Distinctive Three Dimensional Cakes with a Familial Flair

Mary Cisneros had been holding on
to the perfect recipe for cake icing for
decades. But raising four children as a
single mother meant working a steady
job, not opening up her own business. So
her secret recipe had to wait.
By 2000, her youngest child was
ready for middle school and the timing
felt right. Cisneros began her own catering
company, featuring her custom three
dimensional cakes and her homemade
icing. The unique designs are never-ending:
from special requests like an
armadillo or a cockroach to a designer
purse or a full-sized Elmo from Sesame
Street—Cisneros has just about seen and
made it all.
The occasional odd request doesn’t
intimidate Cisneros, who said she’s
ready and willing to make just about
anything into a cake.
“I thrive on challenges. I don’t like to
do simple round cakes, but enjoy taking
special requests for unique cakes, as well
as thinking up new cake designs, too,”
Cisneros said. “We even make boneshaped
birthday cakes especially for
dogs, made with honey, chicken and allnatural
ingredients. They are very popular.”
Self-taught on the art of decorating
and baking cakes since she was 18, she
added that rolling out fondant icing to
cover cakes is probably the most time
consuming, labor intensive thing she does
I love your cakes Mary they are rich and VERY delicious. I cant see my self ever going to any other place to get my cakes or cupcakes.

The cake was spectacular! Not only was it a work of art, but it was delicious! The fondant frosting was over-the-top yummy! Everyone (even my picky husband) cleaned their plate. A couple of the husbands were scraping frosting bits off the empty cake plate. Thank you for the quick turn-around on my order and for such a masterful cake. We loved it!
